Best practices

Don’t manually set every filter. Describe what you’re looking for in plain English and let the AI generate your filters. Then refine from there. The AI often catches keyword variations and filter combinations you wouldn’t think of.

2. Use signal date range strategically

  • Last 7-30 days: companies actively hiring RIGHT NOW. Hottest prospects, best for time-sensitive outreach.
  • Last 3 months: good balance of recency and volume. The default for most campaigns.
  • 6+ months: trend analysis and market research. See how hiring patterns shift over time.

3. Use OR mode for broader keyword searches

Add multiple variations of the same concept: “SDR”, “BDR”, “Sales Development”, “Business Development Rep.” OR mode catches all of them.

4. Exclude keywords to clean results

Common exclusions that improve signal quality:
  • “intern”, “internship”, “part-time”, “volunteer”: focus on real hiring signals
  • “agency”, “staffing”: remove recruiter postings
  • “assistant”, if targeting senior roles

5. Search first, enrich later

Filtering, browsing results, and AI scoring are free. However, each job found costs 1 credit, so use targeted filters to keep searches efficient. Once results are in, use the AI score to prioritize. Focus enrichment on companies scoring 7+.

6. Set up AI Signal Scoring early

Define your Include and Exclude criteria with proper weights before running a search. This makes results immediately actionable instead of requiring manual review. Weighted criteria help you focus on the highest-intent signals first.

7. Use Track mode for key accounts

Put your top 50-100 target accounts in Track mode. Sentrion monitors them for new hiring signals daily. Perfect for ABM. When a tracked account posts a relevant role, you know immediately.

8. Automate with webhooks

Set up Auto-Update + Webhook Exports to Clay for a fully automated pipeline:
  1. Sentrion finds signals daily at midnight UTC
  2. High-scoring results push to Clay automatically
  3. Clay enriches and triggers outreach sequences
  4. Zero manual work after the initial setup

9. Use the ICP profile

Create an ICP profile with your company website. The AI generates summaries of your company, product, signals, and market. Then uses this context to improve signal scoring and match insights across all campaigns.

10. Use Find People with AI title generation

Don’t manually type job titles. Describe your ideal contact in plain English (“VP of Sales or Head of Business Development”) and let the AI generate all relevant title variations. Keep “Include related job titles” checked for broader coverage.

11. Leverage company detail views

The company detail panel shows funding data, founding year, full job descriptions, and people. Use this to personalize outreach without leaving Sentrion. Reference specific hiring signals, company stage, or recent funding in your messages.

12. Export strategically

  • Companies export, for account lists and CRM imports
  • Signals export, for specific hiring intelligence and market research
  • People export, for contact lists with enriched emails, phones, and LinkedIn URLs

Frequently asked questions

How many job boards does Sentrion monitor?

Sentrion monitors 230+ job boards and millions of career pages, including niche industry boards and company career pages that competitors miss. Data goes back 6 years to 2019. Partially. Filtering, browsing existing results, and viewing signals is free. However, each job found during a search costs 1 credit. Additional credits are used for enrichment: people lookups, emails, phones, Write Message, and Use Agent.

What’s the difference between “credits” and “people lookups”?

They’re tracked separately:
  • Credits are used for contact enrichment (email, phone), AI agents, Write Message, and auto-updates
  • People lookups are specifically for the Find People feature (discovering contacts at companies)
Both are visible in the top navigation bar.

How fresh is the data?

Sentrion crawls 24/7 with same-day freshness. New job postings typically appear within hours of being published. Historical data goes back to 2019: 6 years of job posting archives.

Can I track specific companies?

Yes. Use Track mode in any campaign. Switch from the ICP tab to the Track tab, then add companies by name, domain, LinkedIn URL, or CSV upload. Sentrion monitors those companies for new signals.

Can I use Sentrion with other tools?

Yes. Use Webhook Exports to connect with:
  • Clay: automated outreach workflows
  • Zapier: connect to 5,000+ apps
  • n8n: open-source automation
  • Any system that accepts HTTP POST webhooks

What data is included in CSV exports?

Exports include all visible and enriched data: company names, industries, sizes, locations, scores, match reasons, keywords, signal details, contact names, titles, emails, phones, and LinkedIn URLs.

How does Auto-Update work?

When enabled, Sentrion checks for new signals daily at midnight UTC:
  1. Scans for new job postings from your existing companies
  2. Discovers new companies matching your filters
  3. Scores all signals with your AI criteria
  4. Saves results to the database
  5. Sends qualifying results via webhooks (if configured)

What happens when I run out of credits?

You can still browse and filter existing results (free), but new searches that find jobs will require credits. Enrichment actions (email, phone, people lookups, agents) will also be unavailable until you purchase more credits via the ”+ Buy more” button. For full plan and credit details, see the Pricing page.

Do credits expire?

Trial credits never expire. Paid plan credits refresh monthly.
